Certified Tutor

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from The George Washington University, where I concentrated in Security Policy and Conflict Resolution. I'm currently continuing my studies at GW, pursuing a master's degree in security policy studies with a focus on U.S. National Security. Outside of my own academic journey, one of the most fulfilling parts of my life has always been helping other students learn and grow. I've had the privilege of working with students of all ages from first graders just learning how to read to graduate students navigating complex policy papers. My experience includes teaching elementary and middle school students in English Language Arts and Math, with a strong emphasis on building foundational reading comprehension, grammar, and essay writing skills across different genres narrative, persuasive, argumentative, and more.

I've also worked with high schoolers preparing for Advanced Placement exams, including AP English Language and Composition, AP Literature and Composition, AP U.S. History, AP World History, and AP U.S. Government and Politics. For college and graduate students, I've provided support on large research papers and assignments in subjects such as international affairs, international law, U.S. national security, diplomacy, globalization and economics, nuclear security, and historical studies like European and South Asian history. I genuinely love tutoring reading, writing, and history the most especially because they encourage students to think critically, engage deeply with ideas, and communicate with clarity and purpose.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in flexibility, encouragement, and connection. I try to cater my tutoring style to each student's needs and learning preferences. For younger students, I focus on making learning exciting and accessible often incorporating games or creative approaches to keep them engaged. With older students, I foster open communication and aim to create a supportive space where they feel empowered in their own academic journey. I always want my students to feel like I'm in their corner, not just as a tutor, but as someone who truly cares about their growth. Outside of academia, I love reading, practicing mixed martial arts, and exploring new foods and cafes things that keep me grounded, active, and constantly curious.

Hobbies

Outside of academics and tutoring, I have a wide range of interests that keep me both intellectually and physically engaged. I’m passionate about pursuing a law degree, with a particular interest in national security law, as it closely aligns with my academic focus and long-term career goals. In my downtime, I love reading — especially romantic comedies — and I’m always excited to discover a new book or unwind at a cozy café. I’m also a big fan of trying new foods, and anything matcha-related instantly grabs my attention! To stay active, I practice mixed martial arts and participate in GW’s boxing club. I played soccer for most of my life and still enjoy going to the gym and maintaining an active lifestyle. One of my greatest joys during undergrad was exploring the cultural and historical richness of Washington, D.C. I loved taking long walks with my friends through the city—whether it was wandering past the monuments at sunset, discovering a new museum exhibit, or just enjoying the peacefulness of the National Mall.
