Certified Tutor

I graduated WGU and earned a BA in Elementary Education K-8 and a M.ED. in Learning and Technology with 5+ years as a certified teacher of the virtual classroom. I have been in a school setting for 14+ years while working an outside full time job.
Since I joined the teaching world later in life I am able to bring real world experience into the classroom to my students. This has given another perspective on how and why education is so important. Students need to understand the "why's" of education and the skills being taught.
This is where my passion lies because I want to help students want to learn instead of just being told by adults that they have to learn. I also have a passion for math and science since these were my worst subjects. I don't believe that a teacher every even realized how much I struggled and somehow I made it through the years of school hating it. I don't my students to do that so I work daily to make school interesting and relatable to the real world and the "why" they need to learn. I love to learn now and I am determined to help every student I can make the connections and understand what they are doing.
I will work hard to develop engaging tasks and meet students where they are to develop strong strategies to complete skills needed to be successful inside and outside of the classroom.
