Certified Tutor

I graduated with my BS in chemistry and MS in chemistry. Also received my MAT in chemistry grades 7-12 and am certified in two states for middle school science and high school chemistry, and have tutored professionally for two years and taught full time for six. I am happy to tutor all forms of chemistry and general science, but organic chemistry is my area of specialty. Chemistry is typically a subject that we view as an abstract science that happens far away in a laboratory, when in reality it affects just about every aspect of our lives. My goal is to use my passion for teaching and for the subject to break down chemistry and science in general into real, tangible components. There is chemistry happening all around us, and I want to help others understand it and think like scientists. With some guidance and plenty of real-world analogies and references, anyone can understand the chemistry behind our world and learn something interesting from it. When I'm not doing chemistry, I like to go for walks and hikes with our dogs, play games, and cook new and exciting dishes to try.
