My interest in Spanish dates back to my years in Peru, where I started studying Spanish in College. As a part of the curriculum for my B.A. in Translation and Interpretation, the deep study and the constant essays made me appreciate more what I used to take for granted, my native language Spanish, in fact I felt in love with it. However, it is not until I moved to the United States, in 2004, that I decided to take my new love to a different level.
In New York, I enrolled again to study and obtained a A.A. in Spanish and another B.A in Language and Culture. During those years in college I begun to focus on teaching but It did not fulfill my expectations about learning how to teach Spanish as a second language. It was not until I started my M.A. in Second Language Acquisition (in Spanish) at Kansas State University that I felt I was in the path that I am at now. Teaching Spanish at the University, as a Graduate Teaching assistant (GTA), gave me great input of what I really wanted to become and do in life.
The experience at KSU inspired me to keep teaching and while doing it at school in Gilbert I obtained my M.E. in Secondary Education (2018) , along with my certification.
I love to explain how Spanish works but mostly I love to see the click in my students, it is just rewarding.
