I have been in love with teaching and tutoring from an early age. I have taught public and private school mathematics, ran a tutoring company, and taught at the college level. I studied mathematics as an undergraduate, computer science as an undergraduate and grad student, and received my PhD in Linguistics. I am currently a researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, and enjoy tutoring in my spare time, mostly to connect with students and practice the art of teaching which makes me happy and gives me a chance to really help others.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe in focusing on the underlying concepts rather than the specifics of the problem at hand. By connecting the concepts together, we can build a good foundation on which the student then builds individual problem solving skills. However, every situation calls for a unique approach, so what I pride myself most on is seeing the current needs and working with the student at their current skill level in order to bring them to the next level, while making sure to give them the tools to succeed with that immediately in front of them.
