Certified Tutor
I am currently a PhD student in Spanish at the University of Kentucky. Though my ultimate goal is to become a college-level Spanish professor, I have several years of experience working with a variety of students studying Spanish and English, ranging in age from preschoolers to retirees, with proficiency levels between Novice and Advanced. I have taught in a variety of contexts, ranging from Montessori schools to art museums to traditional classroom settings. I currently teach introductory and intermediate Spanish courses at the University of Kentucky. I enjoy working with a diverse group of students and presenting information to them in a manner that coincides with their individual learning styles. Whatever the students' academic background, the philosophy I abide by as an educator is to provide my students with a strong basis of knowledge that will ultimately enable them to learn independently. When I am not helping folks learn English and Spanish, I enjoy hanging out with my cats, reading science fiction, and writing short stories.
