Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of Arizona with my Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. Throughout my 10+ years of tutoring mathematics and two years teaching mathematics at the high school level, I have found students have an underlying fear that "math skills" are an inherited ability. My personal goal is to show every student that anyone can become skillful in mathematics if they put in the practice and gain the confidence in the subject. I am most passionate about mathematics because it explains so many of the intricate beauties we encounter on a daily basis and I try every day to get my students to recognize those as well. In my experience, helping students relate abstract math concepts with things they see and use everyday is the best retention and engaging strategy there is. It also makes the subject so much fun! In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing any sport I can find, running, and volunteering.
