I am passionate about helping students because education is the most important factor for them to develop into strong and independent individuals ready to change the world. I also love learning and want to get others excited about it as well. When working with students I make sure to be responsible, and reliable and to communicate clearly. I also prioritize the enjoyment of learning and practice. I am currently a College Junior at Texas A&M University and working towards a degree in International Studies with a minor in Classical Studies. I tutor all levels of Spanish. I also tutor up to High School Math and Social studies and up to AP level History and Spanish, as well as some public speaking and Classical Studies. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and history. I enjoy tutoring math because I believe it is often over-hated by students but can be very useful and easy to get into a rhythm when well understood. I also enjoy tutoring history because it was and still is my favorite subject and school and to research in my own time. My teaching philosophy is to make sessions entertaining and memorable and emphasize repetition. I believe that students are more engaged when learning can be made fun or into a game or contest. This keeps them more involved and helps them grasp the material better. I also emphasize repetition for things like practice or outside homework. This is because I believe that it is the most effective way to retain boring or even excessive information. Things like jingles or mnemonic devices and even word association are the best ways to retain knowledge, especially for tests or assignments. Outside of academia, I enjoy a lot of artistic hobbies such as crocheting or other crafts. I am passionate about cooking and have been very dedicated to martial arts.
