I first got started with tutoring back in 10th grade when I had some friends who were struggling in an AP Computer Science class we all took together. Most of the content came quite naturally to me, so I would regularly meet with some of them in order to help them grasp the concepts. As it turned out, I was quite skilled at explaining concepts in an easy-to-understand way, and my friends' grades began to rise.
When I first started helping my classmates understand their coursework, I had not expected to find so much enjoyment in it. However, the measurable increases in student performance and the genuine appreciation that came with it proved to be more enjoyable and more addicting than I anticipated. Before I knew it, I would be tutoring Computer Science, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, and Economics. Even now, as a senior at The University of Alabama, I still find myself enjoying the process of teaching as much as I did when I started.
Outside of tutoring, I find myself involved in a number of different activities (and I'm always trying something new)! Some of the activities I've recently been getting involved in are ballroom dancing, rock climbing, volunteering, skiing, and traveling.
