I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

My name is Halle Dirks. I'm a junior at the University of Arizona majoring in Creative Writing and Japanese, and I am quite passionate about both of those subjects. To me, passion is what makes a life worth living -- if someone doesn't do what makes them happy, it makes for a rather dull existence.
Let's see...I've been an honors student for my entire life, it seems, so I think I end up striving for heights others may not. Still, I don't think I'm some fire-breathing strict ruler-toting tutor or anything like that, so no worries on that score. I want to see students pursue what makes them happy, and if what makes them happy happens to align with the subjects I adore, I think we'll get along grand.
Slight personal details about me, I'm what one might call a "mystery geek," and I consider myself to be an amateur Sherlockian. I watch anime -- besides simply enjoying the medium, it makes for surprisingly good Japanese listening pracitce -- play video games, write when the fancy strikes, knit, make paper figurines...really, I have an eclectic assortment of hobbies. I'm also a part of the newly-minted UofA Creative Writing Club, and most weekends I get together with friends and play Betrayal at House on the Hill. I'm more of the introverted sort, but perhaps you could tell that by everything else you've just read?
I suppose I'm digressing at this point. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for visiting my profile! I wish you the best in your future endeavors, whether or not they include me.
