Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We prepared for his quiz. He did not have review supplies so we went over his chapter. We primarily worked on proofs, where he struggles the most, focusing on chapter topics such as triangle congruence and quadrilateral congruence. He had a decent grasp of the topics. We spent some time working with parallel lines cut by transversals from the previous sections."
"We prepared for the student's next test by going over review questions. A lot of the material was relating to properties of special quadrilaterals and proofs involving those properties. He is very confident about his next test and he seems to know the material well."
"We quickly reviewed biology and then moved on to geometry review with shapes. He seemed to grasp everything thoroughly, and after some review, I'm sure he will do well. I helped him study a little, and he has his study guide to work with."
"We quickly reviewed the most important concepts from the semester in preparation for her midterm next week. For this session, we focused on the definitions, theorems, and formulas that she should have memorized, and on Saturday, we'll be able to do practice questions to test these concepts. On the whole, the student seemed very familiar with this material, and she remembered most of the old theorems word for word. She also told me that she got a 90 on her most recent test, so she is definitely comfortable with the two most recent chapters."
"We redid the special right triangles assignment to modify the answers to include square roots. We continued working on the triangles unit exam and will finish it during tomorrow's session. We are almost done with the first semester for geometry."
"We reviewed a few geometry problems looking at finding ratios of sides in similar triangles. To set up an equation, look for a pair of sides that correspond; the ratio side A to B in the first triangle will be equal to the ratio of D to E in the second triangle."
