Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, electricity, current, resistance, and Ohm's law were reviewed for an upcoming physics test by completing and discussing a study guide. In math, piecewise functions were reviewed by going over problems from the work packet."
"We went through the student's study guide for her upcoming test on electrostatics and charging. She was unsure at first about some of the vector problems but once she realized that they were like ones she had done before, she said they made more sense. I also gave her a new problem that involved decomposing two vectors which gave her more confidence."
"The student and I went over the right hand rule and the concept of electric field, with respect to charge, velocity, length and forces. The right hand rule is very important for the topic and we made a lot of good progress today."
"We spent the session on waves, specifically on a string, and generally finding wave speed and frequency. The student was able to quickly identify correct equations and seems more comfortable with this than simple harmonic motion."
"We went over a whole assessment exam packet together with the hardest multiple choice questions from the past year and a short answer packet. The student did well with the packet, and she should do extremely well on the exam."
"We went over concepts related to Newton's second law, converting units, frictional force, free body diagrams, and the fundamental forces. The student had trouble remembering which equation to use when starting the Newton's second law problems. She also had trouble remembering the equation for friction. Once she had these equations, she was able to solve the problems."
