Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we finished our review for the student's midterm. We discussed the Taj Mahal Foucault on Las Meninas, the gardens of Versailles, traditions of Chinese calligraphy, Northern realism, and Palladio's principles of classical architecture. We also brainstormed likely candidates for compare and contrast essays that might show on the midterm--like the differences between the gardens at Versailles and at the Taj Mahal. The student seems more confident and more prepared even than our last session, and I am confident of her success on the test!"
"He has a test in World Studies over the European Industrial Revolution. We focused on discussing and outlining the portion of Industrialization dealing with Labor Unions, Marxism and Fabianism (Socialism), and Capitalism. I showed him a short clip about Marxism because he struggled with the concept. I suggested to him and his father that he watch a crash course Socialism and Capitalism video for further understanding."
"We discussed the reading assignment for Monday, and covered the main points of the reading so the student could be confident of taking good notes during her class on Monday. We also discussed how the main point of the reading tied in with the lecture for Wednesday and some of the main points in the reading material that she will need to help her reading for Wed make more sense. We discussed the plan for completing the upcoming quizzes with grades high enough to rebuild her grade. We discussed how the quizzes in this section will prepare her for the test and how we will go over the material from the first section to get her up to speed for the final in May."
