"We drilled multiplication facts, worked on scooping techniques for fluency practice, and practiced some spelling words with tricky consonants hidden in the last syllables. Great work. Homework is spelling, and continuing to read aloud each day."
"Today the student and I worked on both math and reading comprehension. She just started learning division in class so we practiced that, using the method in her text book (which uses subtraction). She did very well with the new technique! We then worked on her reading comprehension. I brought some worksheets for her, each with a short article. I had her read each article aloud and then she answered questions about what she read. I plan to bring some of the worksheets to all future sessions so we can keep practicing."
"First, student one worked on an extra credit math sheet. After that, we did some measuring with rulers and scales worksheets. Then, we did a new set of sort words - ch-, dr-, tr-, and r-, playing this board game that I made up. Second, student two did some addition and subtraction practice, finished retelling "Cinderella." Then, we did a picture sort with long a- and short a- words, playing the same game. Finally, student three and I studied for his test - he seems very ready! After that, we did a little work with patterns and number sequences and finished doing some 6th grade-level reading with a Cause and Effect worksheet."
"The student had two pop-quizzes in school today. He felt that he did well on both of them as they were a review of materials he had been covering in class and reviewing in sessions. The quizzes were in math and science. We also reviewed algebra. He did well on all of the review materials, but we will continue to work his remembering positive and negatives in equations. We closed the session with reading comprehension. Once again we focused on imagery and metaphor. Although he finds metaphor closer to hyperbole, he does well at understanding the meaning."
"The student and I worked on the verb abacar in Spanish. We then completed a worksheet on history. He was very knowledgeable on this subject."
"We finished math homework and grammar assignment. The student had a little trouble with the grammar, but had a solid grasp by the end."
