Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We focused on the Math section today. First we went over how the section is structured; then we went through the book's 100 Math concepts and saw which ones needed the most review; we discussed time-saving strategies and different ways to look at problems other than traditional solutions; we ended with some practice problems."
"No actual homework today, just 'fun' logic problems, such as trying to connect dots without lifting up a pencil, and determining who is a lawyer, engineer, etc. After that, worked on chemistry, which was using molarity to determine volume needed for solutions in dilutions."
"The student and I looked over her note packet, studying mainly exponential graphs and using log functions to write prediction equations along with distribution and percentages given data. I helped her complete some of the study guide that she was unsure of so she could prepare for her test."
"I over viewed the assessment test for the student, providing some basic strategies for each section. She is a good student and was meticulously attentive during the session. We will likely need to focus a bit on algebra I concepts. She agreed to complete the diagnostic test in Chapter 4 for homework to give us an idea of her strengths and weaknesses."
"Focused on the verbal section of the exam, going over/reviewing many of the word roots and covering new ones/vocabulary, as well as working on sentence completion."
"In this session, the student and I reviewed his class notes on the foreign exchange market and exchange rate, balance of payments, current and financial accounts, and the Phillips Curve. We spent the majority of our time reviewing the PowerPoint slides and looking at his last unit study guide. We will need to spend more time reviewing the way that the financial market works and it's impact on a nation's currency."
