"The first student read the beginning of a story and then complete three prompts where he could come up with three different possible endings. He really liked doing this and came up with some great sentences fairly quickly. We talked about doing more of this in the future. We also worked on some math word problems. Lastly we learned what antonyms are and practiced recognizing words with opposite meanings. The second student and I continued working on recognizing and writing sight words. Her handwriting and letter placement was excellent this week! She remembered on her own which letters were tall and which were short, and asked for help when she needed it. We also did some counting exercises that taught her how to count by 2's and 5's."
"The student was to write a college essay on a personal issue. We worked together on details after he decided to write about some war veterans he has met."
"Today the student and I went over some of our goals for our work together: better organized and clearer writing. We went over our conceptions and expectations of what an essay ought to be like, and then we spent the majority of our time together going over an old essay about The Catcher in the Rye, and working out the specific ways we would sharpen the essay if we were writing it over again."
