Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered all of this classes. We discussed all recent assignments and upcoming assignments. He has a few actions items, and his grades are holding strong: all B minus or higher at this time. He is on track and moving in the right direction."
"We prepared for tonight's test by going over the accompanying study guide. The student understands the process of finding mean, median, and mode. He answered these questions easily. The majority of tonight's session was dedicated to understanding z-scores. I explained how to find the standard deviation and how to use it to find the z-score. Then I walked him through the application of the z-score to find area, percentage, and probability. He began to understand the material after working through multiple examples."
"Piecewise functions - student struggled the most here, but we'll keep working on it. Great attitude as always. Strategies included checking work at the end of the problem/question to ensure correct answer. Did not give extra homework- student has test tomorrow and a massive pile of work already."
"This session went well. She has a test coming up so we went over test review and practice problems. For the test she just needs to take a few deep breaths and take it. She is very prepared and has a few final questions to go ask her TA."
"The students and I first briefly discussed their recent quiz performance, and I will be providing them with sample questions to assist them with the next upcoming quiz. We primarily started working through the next homework set that involved questions and graphs related to monopolistic competition and the analysis of the equilibrium price, quantity, profit/loss, and how this can change short term vs. long term. The questions also focused on game theory and an antitrust article. We still have a few more questions to review."
"We went through the four chapters covered on the exam. We focused on the different cost calculations of overhead costing and activity based costing. We will meet again tomorrow to go over any further concepts that the student has questions on."
