Tonight the student and I began to talk about differential equations. His class has just started on the subject, and they are using the method of separation of variables. The student seems to have a very good grasp on the concept, so we worked over some of the harder problems. I helped reassure the student of his approaches, and pointed out any tricks to the integrations, separations of the differential, or the method for finding the left-over constant when you're given a single solution with a given unknown. We continued to briefly look at slope fields, and the approach to finding solutions to differential equations using that method.
