Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We discussed problems related to calculating probabilities, especially using permutations and combinations."
"We started the section on trig functions and their inverses. We worked through trig identities and using trig to complete information in right triangles."
"We went over collisions today, covering conservation of momentum and energy as well as kinetic vs inelastic collisions. He has an exam tomorrow, but his grasp of the topic is pretty strong. I do think he needs to do a little more reviewing, and then he needs to do a few more practice problems."
"We covered the essential elements of geometric and arithmetic series, going over the formulas and several problems utilizing such. The student was a bit wary of the process at first, but as she practiced through the worksheets, she felt much more comfortable. She should just review through the sheets and do practice problems from the book when she knows the date of her upcoming quiz."
"We practiced working with complex numbers including converting between rectangular and polar forms. We also worked on combining complex numbers using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. We also found nth roots of complex numbers and used De Moivre's theorem to raise a complex number to a power. Lastly we went over what the conjugate of a complex number is and the notation for it. She is doing well converting between polar and rectangular forms of a complex number and she was becoming more comfortable combining two complex numbers one the were in the correct form to add/ subtract or multiply/ divide."
"Today's session was an hour in length. We utilized the time to review the student's pre-calculus project. This particular project revolved around the interest formula [A=Pe^(r*t)]. We needed to create formulas that would solve for the principle amount needed to yield a specific tuition total."
