Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on the review for electric forces and fields. Some of the more challenging problems include calculating electric field produced by arc and charge distribution, that requires integration. The student is doing really well and is preparing her final."
"Reviewed physics lab, read one section from the physics book on the upcoming lesson on electric charge, and did a few calculus problems. Physics lab look good; there is a 3 page limit and the lab is currently about 3 pages long without the data table or diagram. One full page is on results and conclusions."
"The student was reviewing some lab report work and questions covering uniform circular motion and Newton's laws, as well as friction. It was very repetitious work, which helped some with the concepts, but could also get pretty tedious, so we tried to mix calculation with concepts in a ratio that would help him do well with both."
"We covered problems concerning normal forces, weight, and external forces with regards to how much work would be done and whether the work would be positive, negative, or zero. We also covered error propagation in experimental problems."
"The student and I went over more review using old HW, notes, and exams. Things are going well, and we'll have a couple more sessions to work through any more trouble spots. Topics have been centered on radiation and optics. I'll see you next Tuesday!"
"We worked on unit conversions. I taught him a more advanced way of solving problems, and it helped him out a lot because he is very smart and capable of doing things harder. We created more notecards for history, and I also tested him on previous cards: he has remembered a lot!"
