Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I did a whole spectrum of review....from vocab to sentence structures, to patient appropriate sentences / situations, etc. We also went over some commands and new vocabulary that could perhaps be of assistance in his work schedule. Overall, he did well and we'll just have to focus a bit more on the conjugation endings and sentence prepositions and clauses to have a bit more effective communication, but overall nicely done."
"We worked on her homework assignment from the Spanish textbook - Chapter 1, Activity 1-3. We also worked on her flashcards and added more vocabulary from Chapter 2 to her set. I agreed to try to help keep her focused during our tutoring sessions as it sometimes takes her longer to finish homework."
"We worked mostly on basic vocabulary and grammar. We focused on basic words such as dog, cat, tree, etc. and talked about the difference between "y" and "o" in Spanish. We played some Spanish hangman and did flashcard vocab review."
"Last night we continued developing proficiency with the last portion of vocabulary and related common expressions. Per both student's request, I introduced them to some additional vocabulary (food ingredients and taste qualities adjectives). Then we practiced using new words through situational role-playing and reading/ recognizing new words in an actual Russian restaurant menu. I checked with them to see if they had any comments or suggestions. He expressed his preference of having new vocabulary available prior to the actual session, which is what I intend on doing from now on. Also, I promised them to put all the studied vocabulary, grammar concepts, and other worksheets in an easy-to-access reference format."
"The children drew Christmas decorations on the picture of a Christmas tree, and discussed what they were drawing in German. Then they wrote a letter to Santa on the back of their picture in German."
"We reviewed the time expressions. We practiced the German dative case with and without prepositions. We did exercises for both the time expressions and the dative. Furthermore we practiced a bit of conversation."
