Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"One section of the student's final exam was moved up to Tuesday. He still finds it difficult to differentiate between when to use the preterite and the imperfect, so we spend a good deal of time practicing those concepts. We also covered when to use ser vs estar, por vs para, and past participles."
"We worked on review for final exam by practicing prior vocabulary and then commands structure. We went through the review study guide and talked about types of questions on the test."
"The student did not have homework, so we focused on a lot of review and an introduction into the present form of subjunctive. He practiced conjugating various verbs in the present subjunctive and completed practice sentences. We then reviewed formal and informal commands and focused on the irregular commands. He is working really hard and constantly demonstrates a hard working, diligent attitude."
"During this session, I reviewed the student's homework with him. He did well in the oral exercise he prepared for. He made a few grammatical mistakes, but was able to express the ideas he had in mind. We then reviewed the homework he completed on accidental verbs. He expressed that these verbs were more difficult than he expected, but I encouraged him to persevere and told him he was doing well. For homework, I asked him to continue to practice accidental verbs."
"I covered gender agreement, months of the year, numbers up to 200, and the days of the week. With the student I also reviewed the forms of ours, the forms of the, the forms of a, one, an, some or few and the introduction of the 3 types of Spanish verbs."
"I covered vowels, some consonants, and colors. In the tutoring session, I encouraged student one and two to practice Spanish words and short sentences applying the concepts we studied today. They're struggling the most with some Spanish sounds. They are very smart girls and eager to learn the new language, and their response in class was excellent."
