"The student worked on homework that reviewed and practiced the relationships of angles created when two secants/tangents/secant and tangent meet at a point outside of a circle or on a circle or inside the circle and the arcs those segment intersect. She also worked ahead, looking at the relationships created between segments when secants/tangents/or secant and tangent intersect on/in/outside of a circle. She had no trouble setting up the problems and working them out on her own, especially not after working through an example with me."
"Reviewed area of numerous polygons in preparation for her test on Tuesday. The student just needed some additional review and practice going through what will be covered on her test this week. She was attentive and engaged throughout the entire session. We went through each lesson and did several practice problems covering each topic. Overall a very good session and I think she will do well on her test this week."
"We worked on the student's homework packet dealing with right triangles and trig. We talked through each problem and how to set it up. We reviewed the SOHCAHTOA pneumonic device for remembering the trig functions. She is getting much better at identifying which function is used and setting up the problem."
"Today the student completed his homework assignment over sin, cosine, and tangent. He did very will with the problems and has a good grasp on the concepts and when to use each method. We then spent the last few minutes introducing the inverse theorems."
"We finished our midterm review for the exam tomorrow. We worked through the final proofs in the review packet and then worked on some of the areas the student was still shaky on. We did specific practice problems on circles and how to find the center-radius form given a general equation. We also went through problems for circles when you are given two points of a diameter and then have to find the equation. We then talked about properties of kites, rhombuses, rectangles, squares and quadrilaterals in general to solidify which has which properties, especially with regards to diagonals. We finished off with looking at how to find the number of sides of a polygon given the measure of the exterior angles or interior angles. Overall she seemed quite prepared for the exam tomorrow and shouldn't need much, if any, more review on her own."
"The student had her geometry review packet for next week's midterm. We went over a number of geometry topics, including angles and lines (particularly the transection of parallel lines), properties and categories of triangles, similar and congruent triangles and polygons, the Pythagorean theorem, and rations and proportions for use in solving problems of similar polygons. We did a quick coverage of special right triangles and will go over that topic more next week."
