Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session we covered z-tests and t-tests, type I and type II error, and null and alternate hypotheses. The client got a C on the most recent test which was an improvement over the first test which he failed. I asked the client to memorize relevant terms in his own words for next session."
"The student and I discussed correlation between two variables. We were interpreting the correlation values from tables. She had 10 questions from a worksheet to answer."
"Today, the student and I worked on finding z-scores under the normal distribution curve. We worked on computing z-scores on either side of the mean, computing z-scores including the mean, and on computing the z-scores on the tails of each curve. We also worked on finding percentiles, percentages, proportions, and finding the standard error by plugging numbers into the formula. Lastly, we reviewed some basic algebra and rounding principles. She has a test tomorrow and will apply these principles during her test."
"I met with the student for the first time today to help him with statistics. We decided that it would be a good idea to review the material he has learned so far before moving on to the homework. We went over a lot of definitions and formulas such as mean and variance. We also talked about different distributions and z-scores. We will work on the homework when we meet next on Saturday."
"Today, we reviewed hypothesis testing, both using the population as a reference and using a one sided t-test. We reviewed the student's notes and walked through all of her homework. Next time we will work on Macroeconomics as she was confident in the current unit her class is covering."
"The student and I continued to work through the confidence intervals/hypothesis section and made great progress. He did exceptionally well with the exercises today and has a very good understanding of confidence intervals. We will be working through more exercises (branching into hypothesis testing, etc.) in the next sessions."
