Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I helped explain trigonometric proofs to the student today. I explained my method for proving trigonometric equations and gave him some tips to help him improve his methods of proving equations. He has a test this Friday and we reviewed sample problems from his textbook."
"Today we reviewed for a Trig function and Trig Identity re-test the student has to take on Thursday. The teacher had not gone over derivation of sin2x +cos2x =1 and how we can use that to get to the other 2 main trig identities he needed, so we did those. We also reviewed using trig function and the unit circle."
"Today the student and I further practiced identifying conic sections by equations, before moving on to solving systems of conic equations and inequalities. She took to this material more quickly than usual, although she balked a little at how long some of the individual problems took to complete."
"We first went over the student's recent test, which was unfortunately not as good as she was hoping for. We covered various ways to factor out functions, such as difference of squares and perfect square polynomials. We then went over the student's upcoming homework involving finding zeroes of functions and constructing functions from their zeroes. The student seemed to be struggling with the material, but after a while I was able to give an explanation the student understood."
"In this session, the student and I began reviewing some per-calculus concepts that he is going over in class. He is focusing on increasing and decreasing functions, even and odd functions, plotting functions, and analyzing increasing vs. decreasing functions."
"I worked with the student on reviewing trigonometric problems from Chapter 4-1, 4-2, and 4-3 in her book. She understands the material well, but needs more practice memorizing the unit circle."
