The student and I worked on her Assignment #7. Topics covered included linear approximation, logarithmic differentiation, inverse functions and their derivatives, and related rates problems. She is a really fast learner, so she just needs to practice everything we've gone over before her midterm on Thursday. I recommend that we see each other once more before then, if her schedule permits.

While we did not look at any new content, we went over several word problems and used our knowledge of the chain rule to solve for rates of change. This work is helping the student build solid foundations of the mathematical language and will pay off a lot when we get to integrals.

The student and I worked through the practice exam. Overall she did very well, and she just needs to watch out for chain rule and not getting overwhelmed with long problems. We will look over the instructor's answers during our next session to make sure everything is formatted the way he wants on the exam.
