Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Tonight we reviewed the homework I sent with reading and addition practice. Her mental math keeps improving as well as her reading. She is now adding some expression to her reading and paying a bit more attention to punctuation. I will be following up with a practice math sheet if she has time to complete it. This time it is on subtraction instead of addition."
"We did his math fluency homework first, and he excelled with the material. Then we read a book called "Anna's Eggs." I asked him to read it two more times this week. We did much review work while reading, checking for understanding. Then we did flashcards. He was excited to show me he had improved with his flashcards; he was quicker. We then worked on worksheets for answering questions with graphs."
"The student and I focused on spelling, sentence making, and multiplication. I showed the student how to use his spelling words properly in a sentence. We also worked on the mechanics of long multiplication which is starting to understand. I have no concerns from this session."
"Tonight we began her language arts review. She had a packet from school and we used that to re-familiarize her with past concepts. Over all she understands most of what was on the review. With a little bit more studying, she will pass her final with ease."
"The student is having a social studies quiz tomorrow, so we spent this session reviewing. We went over his outline and completed some review worksheets related to the chapter. We also reviewed using a "Jeopardy"-type game. Overall he did well."
"I assisted the student with a math worksheet which covered Pythagorean theorem problems. She had to solve for the lengths of the missing sides of right triangles. She did very well. She also worked a little bit on her project."
