Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered free response questions from her class pertaining to monetarism and Keynesianism. We also discussed concepts related to one of the chapters in her textbook and went through some multiple-choice questions pursuant to those."
"Today I helped the student formulate questions for an upcoming interview with a behavioral therapist for her foster children. We worked on subject and verb agreement, pronunciation, and vocabulary acquisition. She is making good progress and learning to use English with greater facility to express herself. I am proud of her hard work."
"We walked through all of his courses again today; he has brought his Spanish grade up from a C to an A! This is great news; we are still concerned with Chemistry and Geometry, but he will verify when those grades will be updated with his teachers."
"The students and I first reviewed content from a previous quiz in order to better understanding supply and demand, and the factors that can affect each and create curve shifts. I provided them with a "guide" or quick reference list/table to assist them in understanding the relationships. We also reviewed questions from the most recent quiz. Finally, we started a push for the final by reviewing sample questions from the chapters that would be covered. So far, we have covered concepts on supply and demand elasticity (including calculations) from Chapter 6 and will be focusing on Chapters 7 and 8 as well."
"Today we went over some of the student's old practice tests in Reading. We made some adjustments in how he approaches questions that I think should help out. We covered the material in the Science chapters. He scored a 28 on the practice test--but ran out of time. We talked about adjustments that he should make to finish more quickly and with more accuracy. For homework I left some science tests as well as general review of other sections."
"We discussed the student's school structure and her feelings about the upcoming school year. We talked about how the student currently feels about school and the courses that she is excited and not so excited about. She expressed to me her goals of getting all A's and her plans. I had the student strategies on organizing classwork, such as dating all handouts and keeping separate binders or folders. I plan to follow up with her on Tuesdays."
