Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We began the session by watching the video for Lesson 40--Abstract Fractional Equations. The student completed the practice problems and then did the problem set odds 1-29. After this, we worked on the evens from the problem set, since this had not yet been completed. We also spent some extra time on distance problems."
"The student has started a couple of new topics, which we worked on. These included writing algebraic expressions from word problems, using equations to solve word problems, and using various operations to solve for a variable. He continues to practice many of each type of problem. He was very successful in understanding these concepts and was able to apply his knowledge to solving these problems. I was very pleased with his ability to quickly pick up and retain the information needed to navigate problems that require many steps. All in all, it was an excellent session."
"We covered natural logs and graph transformations. The student is smart and enthusiastic. I'm encouraging him to check his work line by line as he writes it, instead of just all at once at the end."
"We went over the student's homework on graphing in the coordinate plane. She is getting better at it, but she sometimes switches her x and y points. We practiced it until she got it down. Overall, it was a good lesson, and she knows her quadrants."
"The student and I continued to go over his history homework. He had to finish working through an interactive video and finish questions pertaining to the story, which he did well. We also reviewed science homework on DNA."
"This morning, the student and I got started with an assignment on factoring polynomials. She showed a solid grasp of numerical arithmetic."
