"For our second session, the student and I focused on reading comp. She had taken a practice test since our last lesson, and we went over the passages that she had the most difficulty with. We talked about making sure that she has a good grasp on the passage before moving on to the questions, including coming up with a main point on her own, familiarizing herself with the organization of the passage, and making sure that she has understood any difficult concepts. We also spent some time specifically on comparative passages. We talked about focusing on the similarities and differences of the passages as she reads them, and really coming up with the purpose of each before going on to the questions. We then moved on to logic games. I looked over the section that the student did as part of her practice test and showed her some improvements she could have made on her set-ups. She didn't have any master diagrams, and therefore wasn't able to make inferences as she went along. I told her if she can make this change she will probably see a lot more success on this section. I encouraged her to do as many reading comp and logic game sections as she can before our next lesson just to keep up the repetition, and then we will go over these sections again to increase her familiarity with the different problems."
"Went over her performance on two practice tests she had taken since our last session. Discussed logic games strategies and answered specific questions."
"The student and I worked on logic games and did several practice problems. She showed improvement on problem solving abilities and question strategies, and we will continue practicing to cement these skills."
