Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session, the student and I reviewed for her final exam, looking at combinations, t-tests, regressions, and hypothesis testing. She needed help formulating hypotheses and stating test results in the required manner. She gained confidence and worked well on the review problem set given. Her grade is at a B, and her past assignments have gone well."
"Today I worked with the student on simple linear regression. We worked on calculating the slope and intercept, and on how to find a predicted value given a regression line. We talked about outliers and values that influence your regression."
"Today the student and I started going over hypothesis tests. She understood the steps of hypothesis testing, and was able to arrive at proper conclusions after solving for the p-values. I left her some notes to look over so that she may familiarize herself with the material."
"Today we covered constructing confidence intervals from a sample mean with a known population standard deviation. The student is making great progress, and I'm pleased with the amount of conceptual understanding he's achieved. I asked the student to do to a little bit of algebra practice outside of our sessions, as algebra mistakes could throw him off on some problems."
"Today we met for the final time this semester, and finished up with a set of finance and number systems questions. I think the student will do well on his test tomorrow."
"Today we reviewed basic concepts in preparation for the cumulative final. We began with frequency distributions and descriptive statistics, then went through hypothesis testing, t-tests, and ANOVA briefly. We made plans to review material, as well as get together for another session to address specific questions."
