Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we practiced the vocabulary for the student's oral exam tomorrow. I asked questions in Spanish, and he answered them in Spanish. We watched two short videos, which he described and answered questions about, and we also practiced commands. He is doing very well, and his spoken Spanish is great!"
"The student and I reviewed for her final exam on Thursday. We went over flashcards. But mostly, we went over verb-recognition. We also reviewed possessive adjectives and their distinction with stressed possessive adjectives. We then reviewed demonstrative adjectives in Spanish. We then did drilling exercises. Additionally, we went over comparatives. Then, we did more translation drills for all of the topics we covered. I think she will do well."
"We went over and reviewed the material of the student's test. We covered the use of "gustar" and similar verbs. We practiced, with exercises, "ser and estar," "saber and conocer," and "jugar and tocar." We also practiced a lot with verbs that change stems ("e into i.e.," "e into i," "o into ue"). I am sending the student some more practice exercises, and we will correct those tomorrow night. The session was very successful, and she was very happy because a lot of her doubts were cleared."
"The student will have his Spanish midterm and needed to review all the study material covered through the period at school. We practiced every chapter, all exercises, and all reading and comprehension sections and grammar included in the study guide provided at school for the final exam preparation."
"The student and I worked on reviewing that night's homework assignment on the use of possessive adjectives, both in the short and long form. We then reviewed for his quiz the following day on vocabulary related to childhood experiences and adjectives. We also further practiced the use of possessive adjectives to better prepare him for his quiz on this material on Thursday of this week."
"We covered the topics that the student said would be on her upcoming exam, including reflexive verbs, preterite vs. imperfect, and affirmative vs. negative words. She did very well with most of the grammar. She had some trouble with the vocabulary and the affirmative/negative words; I advised that she make flashcards for the vocab."
