Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student did so great this week! We had a short session, and today we got through all of her homework. She re-entered a math assignment that focused on the order of operations, and then completed a section on figurative language. She got a 100% on both! I am continually impressed by her work ethic and positive attitude. We wrote a few vocabulary sentences, and then spent the rest of the session practicing more complex algebra color-by-number sheet."
"The student did such a good job of getting right to her homework today. She powered through her science homework, and she really asked some good questions to make sure she understood what she was reading. She got down to work much faster and much more willing than she used to."
"The student did very well today! She worked hard and completed three different activities plus the game. We worked a lot on rounding and place value since she scored lower in those areas on her test. She does understand rounding. I sent a link on the tutoring screen with a game that practices rounding that she can do. She would also benefit from doing extra math daily to work on math facts. This programs is about 3 minutes long on the computer and will give the students a pretest to determine what level they need to start out at. It will then give quizzes each time they log on to increase their math fluency. There are also math games that would allow her to get practice in an engaging way. Hope this helps! "
"The student did well today! We worked on complex 2-digit subtraction (I.e. 90 - 46, 80 - 23). This is a new topic for her, and she felt confused and overwhelmed by it. We will continue to work on it next session. She and I also read together, where we continued to work on her fluency."
"The student finally finished his Harry Potter book report, and we did some math as well. He is helping me teach his younger sister math now, which I really get a kick out of, and this is great for his learning as well."
"The student finished the last of her spelling homework, which she made quick work of. The rest of the time was spent working with her brother. His mom has been keeping me informed on how he is doing in class. He's having some trouble keeping up in class. I know he can do the work, it'll just take some time to develop the skills he needs to keep himself organized. So, today he finished the homework he had."
