Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we went over the entire chapter on limits to prepare the student for her exam. We focused on problems from the new section covered in class that included continuity, tangent lines, and normal lines. She had a positive attitude toward the material being reviewed."
"Today we went over the exam that the student took in class last week. She said that she made a 26/32, which I thought was good for the first exam. Most of her mistakes were small math errors, and I could tell that she understood the big concepts. Also, she got her ACT results back, and she managed to pull her score up by 3 points! I am very proud that all of her hard work this summer paid off."
"Today we went over the new class structure. It is better than a previous course the student had taken. Together we finished the assignment 1 for the first unit. Which covered absolute values, radicals, and exponents. It did get more involved than the previous class and she learned more about these topics. "
"Today we went over the set of homework the student will have a quiz on tomorrow. He was able to solve most of the homework problems on his own with little help needed. He understands the concept covered in the homework problems. In today's session, I was able to explain to him ways to graph non-continuous functions as well as determining the limits of fractional functions. No concerns at all."
"Today we went over trig substitutions with integrals. The student was able to grasp the concepts and is confident to work them independently. We will meet again to prepare for his test next week Thursday."
"Today we worked largely with the graphs of derivatives and their original functions. For one problem, we practiced relating the graph of a position function to a velocity function to an acceleration function. We practiced on another finding the local maximums and minimums to calculate the total distance traveled by a particle."
