How can a Biology tutor help you?

Are you struggling to understand mitochondria or to conceptualize the way a Golgi apparatus operates? Biology can be a tricky subject, but Varsity Tutors can help you find a great biology tutor. A professional, private biology tutor in Atlanta, Georgia, can work with you one-on-one at a time and place determined by you. Your tutor can be flexible to your hectic schedule.

Everyone learns in their own unique way. With your own personal tutor, you can set up a study plan geared to your learning style. Atlanta biology tutors can adjust their personal teaching style to fit with your style of learning. If you prefer to hear an explanation of meiosis, your tutor can talk you through the concept. On the other hand, if you would understand concepts such as homeostasis by watching a video, your tutor can help you to find a video to help you understand the concept. If your learning style varies depending on the topic being covered, your tutor can adjust each session to meet your needs. For example, biology topics such as DNA, RNA, and the nucleus may be difficult to understand without a physical representation to look at, yet zoology may be an area you feel comfortable listening to a lecture on.

We started by discussing the previous exam, including the grade received and the relative difficultly of the multiple choice questions. The student said he is still shooting for an A in the class, if he can finish the semester with a consistently strong effort on exams, lab reports, and homework. We moved to discuss the new topic, evolution. There was a homework assignment due on the chapter reading, so we covered six or seven of the homework questions by using the text and internet to research the topics. Topics included reproductive isolation, the role that natural selection has on alleles over time, and the estimated age of the earth. We set up a meeting time for next week to continue our review of these concepts, beginning with homologous structures.
