Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I mostly reviewed for her test that was coming up on Wednesday. We talked about adverbs, reflexive verbs, the subjunctive, and a number of other topics. I feel confident she will be able to succeed on her test."
"The student is working with me on both Algebra and French. First we reviewed points of confusion from the algebra homework her class had gone over that day, which included drawing graphs of functions from rules of the function instead of from equation. We then moved into French where we practiced communicating with the vocabulary of party planning, gift advice, etc. After that we moved on to integrating past tense grammar in 2 conversational tasks."
"The student is working on reading Le Petit Prince and seems quite engaged in it. She is actually much better at comprehending reading. It would be great for her to continue practicing reading in material such as this so that she can continue to engage."
"We listened to a telling of Snow White while following along with the text. Then we discussed the differences between this version and the Disney version in order to examine what we listened to. This proved to be a very helpful exercise as the student works to improve her listening comprehension, as well as her vocabulary. We then listened to a telling of The Tortoise and the Hare."
"We familiarized ourselves with the content of the upcoming quiz. We practiced conjugations for the passé compose and imperative. We distinguished between words where the gender and plural is expressed in the passé compose form, versus verbs that maintain the same ending for every person."
"We reviewed verbs and pronunciations from the previous session and went over a few new ones. We reviewed conjugating -er verbs and aller, etre, avoir, vouloir, pouvoir, and faire. We went through some simple sentences using verbs and then conjugating them. We reviewed how to form future tense with aller and an infinitive."
