Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed some more with sequences and how to see the patterns, find terms, and partial sums. She does better than she gives herself credit for."
"The student and I reviewed a worksheet he had covering circular dynamics. We went over the problems with inertia and moments of inertia. We talked about how it was like mass but for rotating bodies and that seemed to help."
"Today's session was focused on polar representations of points. Worked on graphing polar coordinates and determining alternate expressions for the same point. Then, moved on to transforming polar coordinates to rectilinear and vice versa. Reviewed some basic principles that go along with polar coordinates, such as Pythagorean theorem, unit circle and trigonometric relationships."
"We worked on getting ahead on natural log equations and properties. The student has a good understanding going into the lesson with his teacher."
"The student did her homework. The homework focused on inversions of quadratic equations and describing the continuity. She said she understands the inversion problems and she seemed to get the how to describe continuity. She has a test on this information on Tuesday so I'm meeting with her on Monday."
"We covered difference quotients and how they are solved. The student needed help a little with secant and tangent lines and how to find them. After we did one example, she understood them and could do even challenging problems very quickly. I explained how the difference quotient relates to the slope of the graph at any given point. Afterwards, I taught her the power rule and how it's used to solve basic polynomial difference quotients. At the end we did a really hard problem together and even that one she seemed to understand."
