"Student reviewed various grammar and vocabulary to complete her Spring Break activities assigned by her teacher. We went over the preterite conjugations, the uses of "por" (for, by, through) and definitions."
"In this session we went over some of the student's homework assignments related to the imperfect ("I used to..." "I was...") verb forms and the preterit verb forms ("I saw"). For her it was difficult to distinguish when to use each form. Preterit and imperfect are challenging to master but when I explained in each question why one form was used over the other, it made more sense to her. She told me that she has a exam on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week so we scheduled a session for Monday to prepare for the exam. I am planning on bringing supportive materials for the preterit/imperfect verb forms as well as extra practice for the irregular verbs (the ones that don't follow the standard pattern)."

"Today, the student and I completed another session. We began conversation practice with focus on conjugated -ar verbs, reflexive verbs, gustar, and a small introduction to the past tense. We then moved on to introducing new vocabulary focusing on terms for immediate family members and relatives. After practicing the pronunciation, we did a "tell me about your family" exercise so that we could practice using the new terms and also incorporate "cuantos." For our next exercise, we did a vocabulary identification activity where I asked the student questions and he provided the answer after interpreting the question and recalling the correct vocabulary term. We introduced additional vocabulary terms and verbs during this lesson that will help him better communicate."
