Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We began book 2 practice exam 1 covering algebra subjects ranging from graph interpretation, simple linear equations, words problems to be converted to algebra expressions and simple geometry (area of shapes). She is doing much better than when we first started. With the goal of utilizing our time together on problems she finds difficult I told her to finish the practice exam, on top of what she already does, and we can go over any problems she's not comfortable with / doesn't understand during our next session."
"The student and I did a two hour review of material for her final exam. We made it about halfway through the material, and will be meeting again on Monday to complete our review before her test on Tuesday. She seems to understand everything and remember how to do most of the problems quite well, though a few questions did pop up while we worked and we were able to answers those. She seems a little bit intimidated by proportion word problems, but we will work on that on Monday."
"We went through her homework. It was about logs and their properties. I explained the concepts to her and I asked her to solve the questions. I also solved some examples before we start to work on her homework. The student understands them and she is doing good."
"The student and I worked on the lesson over equivalent equations and began talking about replacing parts in equations."
"I made introductions with the student, followed by a review of slope-intercept form, and how to convert equations of other forms into slope-intercept form. Then we worked on graphing linear equations and finding intersection points. The student occasionally struggled with switching positive and negative signs, so we will do more work on that next session."
"Today, I helped the student with her homework assignment. The concepts covered included: graphing relationships, function machines, and mapping diagrams. We did a number of examples, and she was able to apply these to her homework. As always, she was focused and did a great job!"
