Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over graphing functions, finding the zeros of a function, asymptotes, continuity, endpoints, domain, and range."
"The student and I covered trigonometric identities during this session. Initially, he was having trouble identifying how to simplify trigonometric functions using the identities. We used his worksheet from class and worked through about half of the problems, and I noticed his skill and confidence building."
"The student got some more information about the placement test she has to take so she can enroll in the calculus class this summer. We were able to start focusing our studying on the specific topics she will need to review beforehand. We covered: simplifying expressions with exponents, complex fractions, equations of lines, perpendicular lines, quadratic equations, and the quadratic formula. We also found a couple of precalculus resources with explanations of more of the topics she will be tested on and plenty of practice problems to go through before our next session."
"The student's class is currently working on permutations and computations. I went over some basics with her to gauge her understanding. She then worked on the problem set from her teacher. She had difficulty understanding the famous 'Monkey typing' probability question. I explained it to her, and she was able to understand. I feel that she is knowledgeable in the subject area."
"The student received 68/78 on her last test, the highest score in her whole class, which is a great improvement! We reviewed 3 of her homework assignments, covering pattern recognition and arithmetic/geometric series."
"We finished discussing the material that the student missed at school - trigonometric identities and trig equations."
