Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I began by working through a complete logical reasoning section. She is still struggling with the harder problems in the middle and end of the section. We talked about ways to speed up her pacing while also trying to increase her accuracy. We discussed the questions she missed in detail and I encouraged her to keep practicing LR questions so she can get accustom to the wrong answer choice traps. At the end of the session, we worked through a few reading comprehension passages. I went over some pacing strategies and other general tips for this section. We went over the questions she missed in detail."
"The student and I worked on reading comprehension. He continues to have a bit of trouble with reading comprehension (especially from the humanities sections). I asked him to really focus on these passages and to identify the themes that constantly reappear. Next time, I will check his progress. I also hope to work on additional type 13, 4, and 4f questions."
"This was a good session. I will email the Dropbox link, so you can study at your own pace from here on out. Before our next session on Saturday, you should take at least two more preptests, and do any other drills you feel are helpful. See you then!"
"This was our first session, and we discussed materials, etc., then worked through games. The student has a very good aptitude for them and was already familiar with sequencing games. We worked through the games from PT 62 together."
"This was our second session right before the test date. Again, we focused primarily on Logic Games. The student made a very solid effort; we did discuss some spots where the work was a bit off, but we were also working on harder games. His baseline ability/understanding is definitely there to do well; he just needs to be careful and work through the answer choices."
"Looked at a wide range of topics today. Key points were the "catch-up" strategy, some number properties (i.e. pos/neg), and quadratic factoring. Also reviewed an essay. Nice improvement on your practice test!"
