Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We discussed a French project that was due Wednesday. The student was to research a famous French skyscraper and do a small report on it. I pushed her to do more than the minimum requirements. I told her that "A" work means "above and beyond, in every way.""
"We worked mostly on grammar. The student is very good in Spanish vocabulary. We also read a couple of pages of a good novel and practiced some conversation and writing. He will keep on reading at home during this week."
"The student and I had a review of demonstrative adjectives and worked on new vocabulary at the end of chapter 3."
"This week I asked the student about her classes and grades and she told me that her last report in French is better. Then she announced that she is going to France for a week; so I suggested to her a few classical French movies like "Les visiteurs" and "Tout ce qui brillent". I showed her the app called "6play" where she can see replays of French programs, in particular "Les reines du shopping". This way she gets to hear more French, so when she is there she won't be too overwhelmed, and she will know a few things about France and have a few topics to talk about. After our little conversation we worked on her homework, as always I made sure that she has good pronunciation."
"The student worked on a French assignment she had to do. We talked about women's and men's winter and summer clothing, daily activities, pronouns, and conjugation of irregular and regular verbs. She needed help with conjugation, so we went over that in detail. I am emailing her study sheets on subjective pronouns and verbs that she will be studying. She was receptive and enthusiastic."
"I am very pleased with the student's hard work today. After some initial impromptu conversation in French, we jumped back into our handling of French pronouns, which the student handled well. We conducted the entire session in French. The student's pronunciation is improving. The student takes the AP French Exam on Tuesday. The student does want to continue tutoring over the summer, as preparation for the French SAT test in August."
