Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this lesson, the student and I worked on problems that involved wave motion and fluids. We looked at a torque problem that was similar to one on his exam, and we discussed topics that needed to be included in his review up to the final exam."
"The student and I had a great initial session, primarily focused on a set of questions involving the analysis of an energy company. We walked through the process of researching information online. We were able to identify information on the company's long term financing sources and their risk, and also find the cost of debt, calculate the cost of equity, and also calculate the weighted average cost of capital."
"Today's review dealt with liabilities. The student and I discussed short-term notes payable, sales tax, warranties, long-term debt, liquidity and solvency ratios, bonds and discounts, and premium on bonds payable. Everything went well."
"The student and I ran through reading and grammar sections. She performed very well on some aspects but had trouble with others. She is doing a good job on picking up upon the specific tips I've given. I assigned more work for next time."
"Today, we covered Spanish, preterit vs. imperfect tenses. We then covered PSAT math which included geometry, trigonometry, and algebra. She seemed to be good with Spanish but a little shaky on the math, since it was a lot of review. We'll continue the PSAT in the next session. Also, she should get her last quiz tomorrow, so that's something to do next time."
"We worked on examples from the previous year's exam of problems dealing with the stability of substituted cyclohexanes and stereochemistry. The stereochemistry included drawing enantiomers, establishing the priority of various groups, naming, determining R and S and drawing diastereomers."
