Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student reported getting good results on his quiz over using substitution/elimination to solve systems of 3 or more variables. He put that material to use working on the new section which covers partial fraction decomposition/expansion, factoring, expanding, equating coefficients."
"I taught the composition of two and three functions, types of functions and how to find the inverse function. Solved all the problems at the end of the section. Worked with the student on the SAT questions. The student is bright and grasps the concepts quickly."
"The student has a test coming up on Tuesday and wanted a session to review for it. She is doing well with vector math, and seemed to need more help in the setting up and graphing of problems. We were able to address all of the problems in her review packet that she identified as needing work. She has another day to review. I am available to help if she gets stuck on a problem during review."
"We covered factoring polynomials that were a degree of three or higher using long division and synthetic division. The student did a very good job and had a strong grasp of the material. He made small distribution errors to start, but quickly fixed those as we went along."
"The student and I had a great session. His PreCalc class has moved from logarithms to working with matrices to solve and set up linear equations. So, we talked about matrix properties, how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide them. We also talked about linear equations and the possible outcomes given a number of variables given unknowns. We also talked about mathematical proofs, and the proper way to prove mathematical concepts. He mentioned he might have a test on Wednesday. Good luck!"
"We continued a review of logs and exponents. We worked log equations and interest and half-life problems to apply the concepts. The student will have a test this week on the material. He understands the concepts and should be able to do well on the test."
