"We discussed expected value and standard deviation for discrete and continuous random variables with unequal probabilities. Specifically, she was interested in the evaluation of games of chance using the expected value. She created her own game and we discussed how well it was designed and went over the probabilities to get the value desired."
"Today the student and I reviewed multi-step word problems. She was getting thrown off by the word 'altogether,' thinking it automatically meant she needed to add whatever numbers were given to her in the problem. We reviewed that 'altogether' can also mean 'the total.' We also reviewed 10 fact families and played a 'guess the addends' game."
"The twins were finishing up their chapter 7 review on solving equation systems or multistep equations. They are doing really well. I had them start drawing a line down the equal sign part of their equation in order to help them balance the equation."
"We specifically covered the concept of order pair. The student had an excellent attitude toward the material we reviewed. I assigned the student 20 extra practice problems."
