Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Covered acids and bases with the student. He was unable to load the textbook online and did not have the most recent notes, which made the session a little more difficult than the days before. We reviewed his notes together and started going over his worksheets. I also helped him to organize his binder. Organization is really important for reviewing for the final."
"We studied and reviewed for his chemistry test, specifically we made sure he understood the context of equations related to titrations, neutralization, and pH and ion concentrations."
"Reviewed for an exam on acids and bases: identifying, finding conjugates, types of, equations with, titration, neutralization"
"Tonight, the student and I continued our discussions of gases and specifically focused on unit analysis and scientific notation while solving problems. She discovered, by working through several examples, that using scientific notation is in fact superior to other conventional methods. We also spent some time revisiting old material related to thermochemistry and calorimetry. Every week, we build on old material, and she is doing very well with this method of teaching. As always, I look forward to working with her again soon!"
"We continued to review for the student's final by working on the list of recommended problems from the textbook that his teacher had assigned. We reviewed Lewis structures, electron configuration, nomenclature, etc. He will continue to review our notes and use them to make a cheat sheet."
"We covered a few math topics relating to the student's upcoming final. He had some questions about piecewise functions and logs. He is a solid math thinker, so all he has to do is remember the formulas and know when to use them. We will reassess once he has taken a few practice tests."
