"Today we continued with the letter "d" by using an eye dropper to drip water. Then, we made a dog out of the letter. We worked on cutting, working with shapes, and following directions. Then we looked at objects that had the "d" sound in them. We practiced counting to four, using ducks with the numbers 1-4 on them, and matching the numbers and dots. We also worked on ordinal numbers. Lastly, we punched out dots using a hole puncher."
"The student and I prepared for his respiratory exam this coming Friday. We went through the entire section and retook notes, breaking down each piece of information, using ways to make each term memorable and understandable. By the end of the session, he knew the entire system backwards and forwards and all the related materials about disease and the effects of smoking. I told him to repeat this process multiple times until Friday and I think, if the instructions are followed, he will excel on the exam."
"In today's session, the student and I worked on his assigned worksheets in Spanish. We covered the imperfect form v. preterit, as well as the subjunctive form v. indicative. He was once again very receptive to the tutoring."
"Since the first 6 weeks just ended, she didn't have a lot of homework over the weekend. She did tell me that she forgot to do an assignment for Aps at the end of the 6 weeks, so she wasn't confident that she ended the 6 weeks with a very good grade. Since she doesn't bring home her INB, there wasn't any way for me to help her be prepared for her INB check. Hopefully, moving forward, we can devise a system to avoid this situation happening again. We spent the session studying her notecards for her upcoming US history quiz, and then we finished up working on her math spiral that will be due Friday."
"The concept covered was social studies as we worked on the student's DBQ. I looked over her answers to the six documents and read the two paragraphs she had written prior to the session. I helped her add outside information to those paragraphs. She rewrote those two paragraphs, and then I helped her to write four more paragraphs. She completed her DBQ for social studies class and just had to type it up before school. She had a great attitude toward the material that was reviewed."
