Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student returned today to predicate nominatives and indirect/direct objects. With the aid of a computer and some spare English books, we found a few concepts to make it easier. He finished the lesson, having absorbed the material well and achieved a 93% on his assessment."
"We read over and talked about a couple essays the student had written for his classes. They were well-written, organized, and detailed. We also fixed the grammatical errors. I then had the student prepare and write an essay on a book he is currently reading in English class."
"We edited an essay she recently wrote for her English class. The student's mother informed me that the student has trouble organizing her essays, which I confirmed. I went over the student's essay and explained to her how to better organize it, and I also corrected grammatical errors and stylistic issues. Instead, I would like to see more of her work, which she promised to have for the following week."
"During my first lesson with the student, we spent some time discussing areas of his schoolwork in which he needs the most help, and his mom showed me his test scores from his state tests for the last few years. While working on his English homework later in the session, we were able to make some progress into critical reading."
"I helped the student with her poetry homework for that night, and taught her tips and tricks she could use in the future to identify themes and symbolism in creative writing. Afterwards, she did a writing practice which we discussed and improved upon. Overall, she did a great job this session and demonstrated a solid understanding of everything that was taught."
"We reviewed the student's English homework. We also reviewed the study guide for "The Crucible." His grade has gone up and remains an A. He is working hard."
