Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over PowerPoint slides from his class. We covered rotational motion from angular speed and acceleration to torque. He has sent me several practice problems that we will work on over the next few weeks to prepare for his test."
"The student is continuing to work on magnetism. We did some problems related to wire length, current, magnetic field and magnetic force. He is still proficient at the right hand rules. He is very strong in solving math-related problems. He is very enthusiastic about units and equations. He continues to do very well in his physics studies."
"The student and I reviewed her recent exam. She worked through an extra credit take-home exam she had begun before the session. She also worked through a current homework assignment for her recitation section. She seems to be doing well in the class and understands the concepts."
"The student and I had a good session. She has a physics test on Wednesday dealing with fluid mechanics. We worked through a whole slew of problems dealing with these ideas. We did several conceptual based problems, and then worked through some very heavy math problems. Our next session is scheduled for Wednesday."
"The student and I had a great lesson. We started out with binary again. I think he has had enough time to digest the material, so now he understands it better. He did a really good job today."
"The student and I introduced ourselves and discussed the course syllabus. Then we reviewed the calculus applications that will be covered and the practice problems on kinematics and two-dimensional vectors. She was most struggling with the foundational calculus that will be used throughout the course, so we had to do some review of properties of the derivative and integral. She was somewhat anxious about her slight lack of calculus knowledge but was more comfortable as we progressed. She seems to have a good grasp of kinematics but slightly struggles in deciding exactly what equations to use for certain problems. She told me she has been doing fine on the quizzes and homework thus far but worries for the single final exam; I left her to complete more of the provided practice problems and catch up on the reading for our next meeting."
