Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed present tense Spanish verb conjugations and practiced conversations with them. Introduced regular past for conjugation and prepared for next week."
"Today we went over regular and irregular preterite verbs. We also reviewed place vocabulary for the quiz tomorrow as well as indirect and direct object pronouns and how to identify them."
"During our last tutoring session before the student's semester final, we reviewed the study guide we had made during our previous session. He came prepared with a list of questions and concerns for me to address with him. We proceeded by ticking off each subject on his study guide and reviewing his questions or working to clear up confusion, especially with verb conjugations in various tenses. He has a solid grasp of basic conjugation patterns, especially in the present tense, however, in past and future the imperfecto and preterito we concentrated on the different uses and irregular verbs. With some more work I believe he can pull himself up to the level he needs to be at, but it will take some time. I wished him all the luck on his final exam and congratulated him on a job well done during our short time working together! I would enjoy tutoring him again."
"In this session, the student explained in Spanish part of a persuasive paper she wrote arguing for early language learning. We also went over possessive adjectives (his, theirs, and ours) and gerunds (walking, talking, etc)."
"In this session, we worked on several exercises on a few grammar points: preterite v. imperfect. We went over both concepts, their uses, and how to use them together. We also went over irregular verbs and worked on several exercises and translations using both past tenses. We then worked on informal commands, and we also combined them with the indirect object pronoun. We compared the difference in conjugation between the affirmative and the negative commands. We also made a list of all the irregular commands. The student's homework is to go over the material we worked on today. Also, I asked him to study the irregular commands. He was focused and participated in this session."
"In today's class with the student, we finished reviewing the subjunctive tense and checked the homework pending for today. We also started the imperative tense and the grammatical rules. During our class, she was asked to provide examples with the different verb uses. I left her with a short homework today."
